Basic Catching Strategies; an Introduction to Biscuit Optimisation

Subjective Info

The following content contains subjective advice or recommendations. Please take it into consideration and make your own decisions based on your playstyle and goals.

General Rules of Thumb:

  • DO NOT waste Biscuits on Mons you will not use, even if they're hungry.
  • Avoid catching evolved Mons as you're essentially paying more just to lose out on a free Main Skill Seed!
    • (Evolved Mons require more pips to catch compared to their base stage)
    • (A Mon's Main Skill level increases upon evolution)

F2P Strategies:

  • In event there's a single Mon of interest, use your Bonus Biscuit first in case it crits.
    • It is also perfectly OK to use the Bonus Biscuit on a Mon without catching it in order to catch it when it returns on a later date.
  • In the event there are multiple Mons of interest, consider feeding two Poké Biscuits to one Mon first.
    • If crit: use the Bonus Biscuit on the other Mon.
    • If no crit: use the Bonus Biscuit on the Mon you fed the two Poké Biscuits.

Great Biscuit Strategies:

  • Premium players could consider utilizing the aforementioned F2P strategies with Great Biscuits since they are the same amount of pips (3) as the F2P Bonus Biscuit.
  • It is also reasonable to feed hungry 5 pip Mons to guarantee a catch or uncommon/rare non-hungry 5 pip Mons to "speed run" FL.
    • A more conservative strategy would be to reserve Great Biscuits for use on rare/legendary/mythical Mons only. For an in-depth Biscuit guide, please read this Reddit post by u/TheGhostDetective
