🤔 How does sending candy work?

The candy given to your friend when they review new sleep reports is based on the image chosen for that research session

📷 How do I change the picture for the research session?

At the end of the research session when it first shows you the photo, you can tap it to select a different photo/Pokémon. If you accidentally skip to the next screen, you can still tap the photo to change it.

🌟 What does the Star rating do?

The star rating relates to the rarity of the sleep style you studied and does not affect the type or quantity of candy sent. This doesn't affect how many candies your friends receive from you.

🍬 What kind of candies do friends like to receive?

Generally, people want candies for Pokémon that are useful and played often. Many people will remove you from their friends list if you consistently send bad candies and/or autopick. If you don't know which Pokémon to send, you can ask in Route 01. Some people make exceptions for people who send shinies. Additionally the Discord server has additional candy lists if it interests you!

Also personally I always use photos of "pseudo-legends" when available; they need tons of candy to level (e.g. larvitar, dratini, and their evos)

😩 What do I do if I only see bad Pokémon during my sleep session?

Send a one star photo to show that you weren't autopicking and try to get as many of the other bad pokemon in the frame as possible. This will let people know you just got screwed by RNG.

🧐 What does "autopicker" mean?

An autopicker is someone who never manually changes the photo for the session and goes with whatever the game chooses for them. The game chooses high star ratings, shinies and new sleep styles as a rule, so if you see someone sending a lot of atop belly or high star rating photos of mid/bad Pokémon, they are probably autopicking.

🥳 Why is it important to fill my friends list as soon as possible?

Each day you can receive candies from each of your friends, you can get a minimum of 50 candies per day if every friend sends a report. You can get over 50 candies a day if some friends send two instead of one. Additionally, you get rewards for reaching friendship levels by sharing sleep session reports back and forth.

💚 What happens when I reach a new friendship level with a friend?

You get a popup that says you've grown closer with your friend and you receive a reward based on level.

Level 1 - 1x Handy Candy S
Level 2 - 1x Ingredient Ticket S
Level 3 - 1x Linking Cord
Level 4 - 2x Ingredient Ticket S
Level 5 - 2x Handy Candy S

Having level 5 friends is better than restarting friendships. Special events often have currencies that have an increased chance of being received if you have a high friendship level. Additionally, high friendship level friends have an increased chance to send two candies instead of one. Level 1 is about 10% and level 5 is 30%.

😭 Where can I find more friends?

In the Pokémon Sleep Discord server's #route-01-friend-codes or #friend-codes for if you just want to drop your code and collect a bunch of codes with no hassle. You might also consider joining the #anti-wobuffet-association channel if you want like minded players that don't auto pick.
